Another Sunny Monday!

Our warm summer continues as we are treated to this first week of fall! – This is Tenpin News for Sept 26.

More tournament information and entry forms are now available for bowlers!

Our BC Tenpin Federation posted their entry form for the 17th Annual Seniors Tournament in Duncan. There are multiple shifts offered for October 23 & 24. The Southern Vancouver Island Tenpin Bowling Association (SVITBA) announces another youth tournament!

On Saturday October 29 at 9am, The SVITBA Youth Doubles Invitational comes to Langford. The Association and League invites bowlers from Vancouver Island and the Mainland to participate. On Sunday October 30 the Doubles Invitational is being held, which begins at 9am as well.

It is a much anticipated return to youth tournament competition at Langford Lanes. The Tournament Manager is Brad Macdonald and he can be reached at 250-885-2421 and by email at bradmacdon@gmail.com. The Rules and Entry Forms are available on the SVITBA web site at https://www.svitba.org/tournaments/. 

Thank you to our coaches and the bowlers for coming out to our return to Youth League Practice this last Saturday!

It was a fast and fun, please come out and learn the fundamentals of being a great bowler! Practice sessions are included in league registration and all ages are encouraged to attend.  Practice begins at 8:30am each week before League.

Our 2022 Season is here!

Welcome back bowlers, welcome new bowlers and welcome to our new leagues this year too. Lots has changed this summer as we begin our return to League Bowling and the sport we enjoy!

Our local Association, The Southern Vancouver Island Tenpin Bowling Association (SVITBA) has created another CTF sanctioned senior league, and our youth league program enjoyed a near full house of new registrations on their Aug 27 Registration Day.

There are new tournaments coming soon, and events like last weeks Pattern Showcase sponsored by Langford Lanes, are more great additions to the great environment we call league bowling.

I’m excited to see a fresh return this year, and there is more to talk about as we roll into league season. We have seen new lanes being built and more pro shops being opened. It’s an exciting time to be a bowler on the South Island.

Our local Association announced changes to the Board and the retirement of Maria Madsen, our long standing President and Manager. After 40 years of dedicated service to our bowlers, community and sport, thank you Maria!
